Actually you can just buy a 2.5mm stereo plug, some wires, and a switch and hook it up. There are only 6 possible different combitions so it's easy to test and you can buy the components for under $2 at Sim Lim Tower, maybe add another $4 for bus fares and an ice-cream from the ice-cream man! Not ba...

I forgot to mention that these photos were taken by carefully placing my camera (both phone and digital) to the eyepiece of my cheap telescope. Of course I don't have a mount (planning to make one myself), so it requires very careful focusing, exposure, positioning and stillness. :) Going to collima...

3 Different Moons (Plus 1 more!) :)

Hi everyone, Just thought I'd like to share my shots of our lovely moon! I don't have much equipment, but here are the photos I've taken of the moon in recent months. In order of date taken (big photo link below each thumbnail): Taken using my handphone camera (k750i) http://farm4.static.flickr.com/...

The rosette Nebula is not in Orion, but in Monoceros. It's also very dim (Mag. 9) so it probably won't show up with my kind of photography. Another constellation photo 003 Corona Borealis from Mersing. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3213/2349270258_4afae25cfe.jpg Click here to see much nicer higher ...

My Astrophotos from Mersing (Mar 2008)

Greetings everyone! I don't have a telescope nor an autoguider. Just a camera and a tripod. I'd love to do some deep sky photography in the future, but here's what I managed to get at my first astro trip to Mersing. Still processing images, but here's one for the time being! 001 Milky Way with Cloud...

Thanks everyone for your kind comments! I did a quick check of the photo with Stellarium and I found a corresponding magnitude 9.95 star. Yes I'll be going for the Mersing trip so I hope to learn a lot more about astrophotography and image processing. At the moment, I working on making a tracker for...
