I agree with vincent that US will be a viable option but the cost of living there is quite high + my parents are against the idea of going overseas. Yup, maybe I might want to specialise in physics here as it is quite link to astronomy. Or maybe I might make astronomy as a hobby instead of a career....

Hi i think u got me wrong. I know that white elephants mean something old/ antique. But i thought that the observatories here would always try to upgrade their telescopes or other equipments thats why. Sorry for phrasing my qns wrongly.

I am sorry, i do not understand what u meant by white elephants? Guess my dream of astronomy as career could not be found here. :( . I really feel that singapore should have such a career.
