I've this weekend tested the amounts of focus travel required in a refractor, between eyepieces, diagonals, binoviewer etc. I used a William Optics 80mm 10th anniversary Zenithstar doublet refractor, which is binoviewer friendly. Supernova in NGC6946 (Cygnus-Cephus)

As reported recently, there's a supernova in NGC 6946 (the Fireworks Galaxy) which is on the Cygnus-Cephus border. SN 2017eaw is a Type II-P supernova, and was discovered on 14 May 2017. I hope to view and image the asteroid tonite!

Should be visible from 11pm onwards till 6am, from Singapore. At 11pm it would be in the NE in Bootes at 30 deg above our horizon (Singapore).
