yup.....managed to watch Jupiter and Venus recently.
Another question: the Venus still appear like a crescent to me through telescope, is it always like this?

just an update: last friday night managed to spot Leo and a yellow spot, guessing it must be Saturn. Unfortunately it was too vertical on top of my head so couldn't manage to see through telescope. Saturday night 12 am it was slightly slanted so managed to get the image inside the telescope. Turning...

Thanks Sam. Interesting to know that the planisphere actually guide us to find the stars. Now I feel good that I could spot the big dipper. I think this must the "north 7-star" mentioned in Mandarin, haha. Zamri, I did look up straight up last night and did not spot Leo or Saturn. I guess ...

I got a planisphere and found Leo on it. Last night look at sky, i think i saw "Big Dipper" just in front of me when i was facing the north, it is the one with trapezium shape and 3 more star as the "tail" right? If refer to planisphere, big dipper at 50 degress and Leo at 15 deg...

hi sam thanks for the explanation. Early this morning still can see the Venus and Moon, guess tomorrow have to wake up extra early to catch Jupiter.

How can I view Saturn? what time and what direction (west, south.....angle from horizon?), I really do not know how to track the planet.

Bright spot in the East (morning) and in the West (night)

I had observed a bright spot in the east in the morning, can be seen even before 7am, today it is below the moon (crescent). When look thruough telescope, it is like a crescent or 1/3 of a ring. What is this? Also at night about 10pm I can see a bright spot (white, and a bit blue??) at the west. Loo...

Hi,dx Tonight,comet lulin should be very near the star Regulus in Leo.Spot(use your naked eye) saturn then look westward for a bright star-thats Regulus.To be more accurate,draw a virtual line joining spica and saturn,then extend it westward-the first bright star it hit is Regulus.,but bear in mind...
