WTB: C6 or cheap semi-APO
I'm buying either a Celestron C6 or a semi-APO from William Optics (Megrez preferred) or Stellavue.
It is preferable that finderscope and dovetail is included.
Kindly sms, PM, or simply reply with offer (and scope). My number is 93386204.

Cheapest mount with guiding capability worth getting?
I'm thinking of getting a personal scope sometime soon, and I'll probably be doing some astrophotography. I would most likely be using the cheapest setup possible that's passable, a WO 70mm APO with a KWIQ guider, so I would want a mount which has decent tracking and guiding, and can support that. I...

Um...just MAYBE Pulau Ubin is. Its is almost impossible to get close-to-ideal in urban areas...I went to Perth once, and the skies are way better than anything I've seen in Singapore, but still when you try to take long exposure shots the sky is still not fully dark (and its uniform, ie. not noise)....

Where to get mylar sheets for mirrors?
I'm not really looking for solar filter kinds, it just needs to reflect well (hint, hint). I am actually doing a research project on telescopes, and I need to find mylar sheets with mirror-like finishes, but have absolutely no idea on where to get them. So any ideas, anyone? I don't mind solar filte...

Yeah I noticed the serial port which is probably a good indication of it being obsolete. Indeed, it is not produced anymore. We all don't have the guts to open up a vmc...no one here can afford to pay 2k if anything goes wrong O.O During June hols (before Desaru) I will probably be trying some astro...

I probably won't bother guiding the Vixen, and guide the Showa. I'm not sure the goto system it uses, but I think it is ASCOM, so we might just be able to use a program like guidedog. As for the Vixen, I guess I could just try contacting Vixen. I wonder if warranty covers mold...5 years is not up ye...

Problem is our 80mm refractor is in bad condition...the coatings are all screwy and the eyepiece screw is missing. It was a scope intended for the juniors, and they don't treat school property kindly...they even managed to screw up a Dob, which the seniors always considered an incredible feat. I gue...

I know the DSLR is not for infared, but most CMOS sensors are sensitive to infrared and the filter blocks that...I didn't know we still have to filter our infared after that. We are not obsessed with SCTs, but we obviously won't use a 80mm Orion achromat, and a rather cheap one, for that. (Our only ...
