High-resolution Solar Image using C11 + Quark

Previously, I have achieved good results in H-Alpha high-resolution solar imaging with a PST etalon-D-ERF on a C11. After 3 months of tinkering, I finally succeeded using a Daystar Quark with the same D-ERF- C11 setup. This is the setup: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ofe0I8eFQ00/XiOupsyZI4I/AAAAAAAAo8M...

Re: Solar full disk and Hi-resolution collage

Interesting, yltansg. First time I see this technique :) Hi Airconvent, I have not seen anyone in the world who has presented high-resolution zoom-in images of the Sun with respect to the corresponding solar full disk in 3-narrow band imaging. I feel that this manner of presentation helps the reade...

Solar full disk and Hi-resolution collage

This collage of solar full-disk images in white light, CAK and H-Alpha wavelengths with correspondingly high-resolution images of the region near the plage allows us to peer at the details of surface, lower atmosphere and upper atmosphere of the Sun. Equipment used include William Optics Megrez 90 r...

Re: Electronically-Assisted Astronomy - Some familiar DSOs

Thanks, Sentinel.

I used a ASI224MC with a Televue 0.8 reducer.

Electronically-Assisted Astronomy - Some familiar DSOs

Tried live stacking using SharpCap software using a 90mm telescope at F5.5 The setup: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0vaOeT_htks/XXzI9AGFP0I/AAAAAAAAmM8/TTPgjHTQz10yOZfTHacNZ2HuNneEFExuwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/20190913_095313.jpg Some bright DSOs: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-voOS5ckzfBg/XYQM4KNFHmI/AAAAAAAAmvI/...

Re: High Resolution H-Alpha Solar Image

18 Aug 19. Peering into the solar upper chromosphere in H-Alpha using a Celestron C11 SCT fitted with a full-aperture D-ERF. Despite being spotless, the Sun has many interesting 3-D wavy plasma features near its southern limbs. Seeing condition was poor. The Sun was covered with passing clouds throu...

Re: High Resolution H-Alpha Solar Image

Thanks Ivan. After some tinkering, I am now able to produce this quality consistently. For high resloution imaging good seeing condition is essential. Good news is our local seeing condition is good. Next I am trying the next higher resolution with a C11 SCT.

Re: High Resolution H-Alpha Solar Image

Thanks Kochu and CheeYiun. It took me some time to experiment and find this optical train that produces a satisfactory image with my Celestron C8 SCT. I will next work on this C11 and see if I can get higher resolution images. Cheers. https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8bSrxuh5gDo/XOTyJ7I5F6I/AAAAAAAAkmQ/AL...

High Resolution H-Alpha Solar Image

Hi, It has been a while since I last posted an image of the Sun. I have made further progress on high-resolution solar imaging in H-Alpha, CAK, WL, G-Band wavelength. An example of H-Alpha imaging is shown below: Setup - 8" 3-Band (H-Alpha, CAK and G-Band) full aperture Dielectric Energy Rejection F...
