Re: M45 Pleiades Cluster
Have you got your guiding gear? Autoguiding is definitely worth it even for a single axis motor mount like the Star Adventure. Hey, no unfortunately. My guidescope is otw but the guide cam is still OOS. Quite excited to try out autoguiding, hopefully better polar alignment and more subs to keep!

Re: M45 Pleiades Cluster
Nice shot! With M45 getting lower and lower in altitude in post-dust hours day by day, we may have to shoot it from somewhere like Kranji/LCK for its better LP conditions facing west Thanks! I'll probably attempt it again late this year as it rises. In the meantime, I'm looking into getting a guide...

M45 Pleiades Cluster
Another session plagued with technical issues, unable to get proper polar alignment, persistent slight star trailing even at 25secs exposure, frames slowly getting overexposed as M45 sets into heavier light pollution, difficult gradient reduction in post-processing. Final image is quite acceptable e...

Re: My astrophotography 2021
If I had bothered to use dithering and flat frames (oh I was so tired and sleepy then), I might have uncovered a little bit more detail. Total 30x120s subs. Other than the above, it could go better if I would wait for the target to rise to a higher altitude (less glow), or get the guiding more accu...

Re: M35 Shoe-Buckle Cluster
This wide field of view is really a nice picture. Close to the ecliptic, it is often visited by solar sys objects. Around Apr 27, Mars will pay a close visit to M35. Wish for clear skies then. Thanks! This starfield is certainly more busy and visually appealing than M44, quite happy with how the im...

M35 Shoe-Buckle Cluster
Less visiting and hosting this CNY due to covid, coincidentally the skies were pretty clear tonight. Very nice starfield featuring M35 and NGC2158. I was getting intermittent slight star trailing with the SA at 30secs, unsure whether it's periodic error or poor alignment. Somehow DSS managed to stac...

M44 Praesepe / Beehive Cluster
Taken during the exceptionally clear night on 07 Feb 2021. Was hoping to pull out more stars in the background but unable to. Not sure whether I should sink in more time into this target. Praesepe, also known as Messier 44 (M44) or the Beehive Cluster, is a large, bright open star cluster located in...
