I wouldn't suggest using the Nex lenses for astronomy unless that's your only option. The 18-200 is very hard to find and expensive. The 18-55 is a bit short. A manual focus lens for a different camera with an adapter that's set to properly focus at infinity would make things much easier. Hopefully ...

That was taken at my astronomical society's observatory. Frankly, it's a pretty light polluted site. But I also tweaked levels in photoshop to improve contrast. (a tweak that takes all of 30 seconds)

That one was 25 seconds.

Those shots are incredibly crude. I was set up for public outreach, and realized I had everything but the remote release for prime focus so I decided to take a couple quick shots to get a feel for what I could expect.
