Re: Free Public Talk - The Southern Constellations - 1 Mar (

Thanks to Ava for creating the beautiful bookmarks which I was able to use as prizes for impromptu quizzes during the talk. Glad to see and interact with educators coming for the event. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bhn5Th-CcAA50sX.jpg Glad those bookmarks were well received. :) there'll be more desi...

Re: 10kg more baggage allowance for SIA and SilkAir passenge

Also, if you're traveling with someone who has PPS Club status, you get twice the baggage allowance.

Although, my luggage is always around 15-17kg when I'm coming back from trips, unless I've been shopping like crazy.

Re: Cheap beginner telescope

If you manage to repair the hook, you can also consider getting a stable camera tripod for your scope.

Just let either Dave or I know if you want to borrow a tripod. Between the two of us, I'd wager we have something like 9 tripods - both for photography and astronomy.

Re: Send your name to Mars orbit

Join you all and go to Mars as well.

(I also sent my name to Mars with Curiosity last year. Still kicking myself for not getting into space exploration earlier. I deeply regret missing the chance to send my signature to Titan with the Hugygens probe.)

Re: Milky way?

So many Milky Way experts here! Maybe this upcoming long weekend, I might try to capture the Milky Way from my place at Bukit Timah. Time to borrow Pentax O-GPS unit from Dave. If he can capture Milky Way at Ang Mo Kio, I'm hoping that I can capture something from my place as well. Seems like you g...

Re: Bornfree's bedroom obs

Glad to hear that you have a convenient obs location within your home. Makes it all the more easy to start obbing when the skies are clear.

I'm waiting to settle a few more components of my setup before I set up my "observatory" at my balcony. Western views FTW~
