Re: MARS-LE ... an upcoming public astro event in Singapore!

Will there be enough car parks? The venue has limited car parks and if I were to bring the scope at 10pm, will I be able to find parking? Will there be any reservation of car parks?

Re: 5th April Jupiter

Ha yup. Simple way of capturing what I observed, without having to spend on imaging equipment. Since I am primary visual observer and have very limited time to observe, the simpler the tools, the better for me.

5th April Jupiter

s4-final-800.png Was observing Jupiter with my 12.5" dob. Seeing was really fantastic and I must say I had one of the best views of Jupiter. Razor sharp image, steady view at 300x and Jupiter was feature galore. The GRS was visible, there were two large blue festoons, the SEB had a split in the ban...

Re: iPhone 5 image of Jupiter

Sigh silly me, I just realized that the emailed video that I used for the image was highly degraded. Attached is a much better photo with the true resolution recorded by the iPhone 5.

Re: iPhone 5 image of Jupiter

Ha I cheated by using a novagrade universal smart phone adapter coupled to a 7mm nagler eyepiece. Anyway to hold handheld is extremely difficult ... Must be a sniper to do that. However, with this adapter the phone is rigidly mounted to the scope. I still had to chase the planet looking through the ...
