Re: Milky way?
Such a waste that I didn't have time to take advantage of last month's super clear skies to shoot the milky way in Singapore. Revisited Sentosa Tanjong Beach last night but noticed skies not so clear and plenty of passing clouds. The strong light pollution is definitely evident in the image. But it ...

Re: Milky way?
Wow...didn't realise it is coming to 2 years since I last updated this thread... Joined Thomas for a night shoot at Kranji yesterday. Skies getting cloudy by the time I reached and only managed to get just enough photos for stacking (luckily). Widefield shot of the setting Milky Way from Kranji, Sin...

Re: Auroras @ Finnmark, Norway
Shot another set at another location in Norway. A rented cottage at Porsanger, Norway. 70° North...the northern most latitude that I have stayed. There was a very thin layer of clouds and NL was quite weak. Pale in comparison to the NL I saw at Alta but still it is better than nothing :) Polaris is ...

Re: Auroras @ Finnmark, Norway
Clouds rolled in relatively quickly within 30 mins after first seeing it. So I was lucked out and went back into the guesthouse to pack cam equipment. I was thinking of driving out to find clear skies. When I walked out again after 40 mins...I was greeted with clear skies with a lot of sparkling sta...

Auroras @ Finnmark, Norway
Just came back from a trip to Finland/Norway to see the northern lights. If you ask me, November is probably not a good time to go Finnish Lapland or Finnmark for northern lights. Weather over the arctic circle is in the process of changing to wintery weather (and snow). Frequent snowing means cloud...
