it comes down to what VinSnr said.. it does not matter which country makes it, to run and make a good use of the facilities you need people genuinly interested in that subject.. Hopefully this research facility will attract some bright ppl.

This is really a wonderful lens for bird photographers.. Sigma perviously had a wonder 120-300mm f/2.8 lens which has a very good reputation. I believe if thislens has similar optics and price for this lens is good,it will have a very good uptake

for the same price or a little more, I would recommend a Sigma 8mm f/4 lens.. The sigma lens is optically better and is a true full circle fish eye lens..
