Comet ZTF

Image

Had an hour+ of relatively clear sky on Thursday, managed to get 50 minutes of good comet subs to produce my first image in months.

Used my William Optics GT71 refractor and ASI533MC Pro.

Taurus Mosaic

Hi all, I have spent a few days in Bortle 0 in the middle of nowhere in Arizona. During this time, I collected data on a few targets, including a 9 panel mosaic on the area around M45 and the California Nebula. This is just a quick process for now until I get the mosaic parameters refined to avoid s...

Re: Widefield MW Dust in Scutum

Full of stars! A 6-hour total exposure test sounds a little insane :) And the data processing procedure is quite sophisticated. If it does not involve paid software, I hope can learn from you. Given 533 is a small-size 1-in sensor, what actually caused the obvious aberrations only in the upper part...

Widefield MW Dust in Scutum

I decided to visit a star-dense area to test my new Samyang 85mm lens. If I'm not wrong, I used f/3.6 for 6 hours on this image because at faster focal ratios the stars were of very poor quality. Overall I am quite happy with the star shape and colour, I used a ZWO UV/IR cut filter to help subdue bl...

I think roughly 3 hours per panel on each filter, horizons aren't good enough to image it for many hours each night

Milky Way Core Nebulae mosaics: M20 & M8, M16 & M17

M20 and M8 - 2x1 panels, full broadband RGB (no filter) M16 and M17 - 2x1 panels, HaRGB (l-extreme filter used, and its red channel was extracted to use as Ha for enhancement of RGB image) All shot with ASI533MC Pro and WO GT71 scope. Some stars are elongated because I was running unguided exposures...

Looks like light leak from local lights/moonlight
