thanks for the help guys! I'll try the heat pads first (if i can find one here in the Phil) before I buy the more expensive dew controls

How about the temp of the heat pack, wouldn't it be too hot for small refractors? I mean won't it affect the turbulence in the inside of the OTA?

Thanks for the description guys, I guess ill learn this soon as I have a few serious obs under my belt. . .
So if I think dew is about to form, I just activate the heatpack and place it on the scope? Where do you put it by the way, on the dew shield or behind the dew shield (for refractors)?

thanks for the heat pack recommendations! this looks cheaper any tips on how you use these heat packs? how do you usually know if dew is about to form on your lenses?

Im using an AT72ED refractor and the dew point on my site is about 22-23C on average a night... will i have trouble based on this? Sorry I really dont have any experience at all

What do you guys use for dew control?
Just wanted to ask what you guys are using for dew control? I just got my first scope with a dew shield but will this be enough? Any suggestions or opinions will be greatly appreciated... thanks kaomoo, i got this scope specifically for my upcoming trip this December on a dark sky in the southern part of the Philippines. I will be there for 5 days so hopefully I can get at least one cloudless night... I'm still waiting for some accessories as well, a 2" diagonal and 2 eyepieces,...
