Re: My visit to the Gunma Astronommical Observatory

Cool trip! Is the observatory opened for everyone? I mean - do you have to pay to enter? Yes the amazing part is that it is opened to public. If memory serves me well, they charge an entrance fee of 300yen, though I think it's more than worth the money! I've added their website to my post in case a...

Thanks Marco! Nice to see your effort too. I believe seeing in Singapore is at least decent a good deal of the time which makes it much better for planets. :)

Re: Planetary Obession (latest update: Jupiter+GRS+Io&shadow

Finally achieved satisfactory results with derotation. Also my first attempt at putting together a rotation video sequence. Re: Planetary Obession (latest update: Saturn)

Sharing a recently acquired image of Jupiter, including a GRS and Io moon/shadow transit. Left image a stack from 3 min of data and right is from 10 min. Some rotation on the planet Jupiter can be seen in the right and a slight loss in detail. As always, my quest to figure out derotation continues, ...

WTS: Meade DSI (Original version) SOLD

Hi all, clearing some space, selling the original Meade DSI. Just in case anyone out there might be interested to get started with guiding at low cost. Thinking of letting go around $30.
