Wanted to put my thoughts on this often raised question - eh, Newbie: what to buy ha? Apart from Tak lah? So for newbies (notice small cap 'n'... :P ), I have this ONE KEY point: BUY the best MOUNT/TRACKER you can afford. This will go far in your quest for perfect stars and detailed DSO imagery. Put...

Re: A Newbie's Impression of the Samyang/Rokinon 135 F2 for

I have a right angle finder for the camera so easier, followed by a few test shot to fine tune framing. But generally the fov is wide enough to get into the ballpark.

A Newbie's Impression of the Samyang/Rokinon 135 F2 for AP

A Newbie's Impression of the Mewlon 210 for Astrophotography

Re: Getting started in astrophotography with DSLR vs Telesco

You can try the Ioptron CEM25 or Skywathcer EQ5 class mounts. Used maybe cheaper. Mounts are the MOST critical component for astrophotography.

A Newbie's Impression of the FS60CB for ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY

Before delving into the meat, a little history on this little cutie pie scope. I had acquired this used from Japan a few years ago. It was one of the 40th Anniversary Blue versions, and came as a complete Fs60Q set with the 7x30 finder and the CQ1.7x module. I was heavily down with a severe case of ...
