Re: WTB: Beginner's Goto Telescope

I am using manual, and it is really not easy to locate objects of interest, unless you have real clear skies with visible star patterns. Your finder scope and main scope must really be in sync! A bit off centred and you will find you got to use the slow motion to make adjustment till the object is l...

Re: WTB: Beginner's Goto Telescope

Good to get lost in the skies, but not for too long as this may kill your interest in the hobby... [smilie=angel.gif]

Re: Solar Eclipse

True. Actually apart from seeing the solar eclipse, one of the things I enjoy is shared my scope with some curious onlookers. They knew there is eclipse and this guy with the scope must be seeing it [smilie=admire.gif]

Re: Solar Eclipse

I will probably catch it at the park outside my home with my scope. I think is best time to capture some flares with my filter.

Re: WTB: My First Telescope!

Personally, I would prefer the telescope over bino as you can see planets and more deep sky objects with telescope. With special filter, you can see the sun with its sunspots too.

I am using astromaster eq 130. It is short tube, easy to handle. Just that I find the focal length a bit short (650 mm).
