Re: Milky way?
I could not see any constellations cos I not used to seeing so many stars all together, normally scorpio tale is easy to see cos its far brighter than adjacent stars but not it seems when you composite a load of frames together as is done here. Nice image.
Sunday night was really clear too!

Re: Golf bags used to keep telescopes?
Yeah also want to do this. I was looking at those trolly shopping bags with wheels, could put scope and mount in there and tripod over shoulder, but will still need to carry powerpack and all your extras, EP, torch, ipad whatever. Not done this yet though.

Is there an app that can be liked to a Celestron 8SE rather than linking a pc?

Another possibilty on or near Henderson Bridge which has both North and South veiws, same near Mount Faber. The Bridge itself might have a vibration cos its wooden. Will have to check it out n...

Re: Newbie looking for Telescope
Hi thanks the those tips! Im using the one that came in the box with my Nextar SCT 8SE. Can be annoying these past few days when its cloudy, to get the only stars I recognise when I do the "sky Align" function to align it. But I usually get a confirmed match. But at this beginner stage I d...

Re: Newbie looking for Telescope
I have a cross-hair scope on the side of the Tube, which is not very accurate i must say, even after adjusting. Tend to have to slew around for the brightest star I was aiming for when im aligning. (BTW do we have to align everytime we use the scope, I can find any saved location settings?) This ret...
