u need to align the red dot finder with ur telescope. try doing this in the day. regarding the magnification of jupiter, try 200x and above for good views.

The atmospheric currents are continously changing, resulting in the light from the stars being slightly refracted when passing through the air and our eyes. since u said that it's shaped like a disc, it's quite unlikely that it's gonna be an aircraft. furthermore, i dun think that it will be a meteor either(gone less than 2s). Might be the 2nd sighting of UFO since u guys spotted the previous 1 at dempsey =p

errm... i dun think u should take those that have the 10x zooms as they will degrade ur image quality. u shld get the cams with mega pixels ranging from 4.0 to 6.0.

hmm.. i'm just back from sentosa's ntuc resort. the skies there were good. although i wasn't allowed to go to the beach area, orion, gemini and canis major were all clearly visible !
