Newly discovered spherical planetary nebula

"Dave Jurasevich of the Mount Wilson Observatory in California spotted the "Cygnus Bubble" while recording images of the region on 6 July 2008. A few days later, amateur astronomers Mel Helm and Keith Quattrocchi also found it. The bubble, which was officially named PN G75.5+1.7 last ...

Amazing, Clifford and Richard! Really lucky for you to get clear weather in Hangzhou. Looks like it was the best of the major cities in China. Shanghai was clouded over and I drove to the outskirts of Hangzhou where I managed to see most of totality but with cloud. My first solar eclipse! Missed the...

Sorry guys - can't join you in Hangzhou. I'll be in Shanghai and trying my luck from the JinShanWei beach area.

Let me know if anyone else is in Shanghai and wants to tie up.

Clear skies!

So cool that you all are so much more experienced and have seen so many things. [smilie=beaten.gif]

The most fascinating naked eye object is still the Milky Way for me. When I first spotted Omega Centuri that was cool too, as well as the Pleiades's and the Orion Nebula. [smilie=ahaaah.gif]
