Indeed it needs to! It has a long way to go to regain it's former glory and credibility, as far as I am concerned. Still, the equipment reviews are always worth a laugh.

Go well!

Well done for capturing that image Starfinder.

Your estimate is in line with others in the AAVSO database:

What about imaging it evry day or every few days to watch it fade?

Go well!

Hello Rich and co,

Weixing's explanation is correct. There's quite a good article about RS Oph, novae & cataclysmic variable stars at:

Bright nova

Folks, in case you haven't heard, the recurrent nova, RS Oph, is undergoing a rare outburst. Pretty bright, at mag 4.5. Below is the AAVSO announcement. Should be an easy target from Singapore. Definitely worth a look. Go well! Jeremy ____________________________________________________ The recurren...

Baader Planetarium (Germany) makes them.
Only thing is it's the same model for C9.25 and C8, so it's a bit long for the C8

I was a reflector man (I had 3 in a row) until I came to Singapore. Then I was converted to refractors, having been exposed to all those lovely Taks, William Yangs, Pentaxes etc. For imaging a small, short FL refractor is hard to beat. Especially when you have to set up and take down quickly in S'po...

....think it's only an effect of the large number of stars in the core. You tend to get the same effect visually. But in fact it's just as sharp in the centre. I always struggle to get the centre of globulars looking good (i.e. without being burnt out) in my CCD images, but this is an excellent exam...

Good to see the E210 strutting it's stuff, Remus! Interesting to see the delicate dark nebulosity winding it's way through the star field.

Go well!
