Re: My astrophotography 2022

Finally I got the shot. Winter hexagon, Venus, Mars and ... Zodiac light a bit vague though. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AL9nZEXy9uuB1hozM2s9D4NHFjjGkc3MYYwOMkH6rOeXuig9frdEyQZha1gG52oMpKp7C8L5ldl7R87L8b5fcwUIFJd1n56Enw-sZcBDhwSwxdUa4V9AGo07AQspTNlSkpZAxAtHRQmqxbsBowrYOONKXoj8pg=w863-h937-n...

Re: My astrophotography 2022

The 1st quarter moon was super bright and washed out the stars. I used an video LED light to light-paint the rocks. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AL9nZEV3RDTMm0rwReaMRkwIAyof8_ZUZFPCSwH2sGbs-SNrmpI2diq62CiK3s-hthf488D-szv_CoDNffQD5b598zdfxAg8wWSMq_JhzZ6Ff1Lubw_1T5KhQdtPgpkIiFcrkcAZj-CiGuczSTq...

Re: My astrophotography 2022

I went up to Mersing twice, one last weekend and one last night. Did not get clear skies last week. It was a crazy night seeing me going to Mersing and exploring the Mawar region, and after midnight went further north to ulu ulu country side past Rompin (traveled a lot of dirt roads). And I got back...

Re: My astrophotography 2022

I attempted at the false comet nebula again. Well I did not expect much from the poor NEX5R camera (astro-mod). So this served to validate, again, it is truly astromodified. :) https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AM-JKLV_INGB_WsGcyxXLkA40yHyLQexgwwN6skIdyKBn822RCevN4N0t6mu_wk7dcfT7a_1qfvjF701Bs_Dsf...

Re: My astrophotography 2022

I finally got this shot -- too many people have done similar, cheap, and childish things so please bear with me. Aha These are composite images -- using the same camera, same lens, and same position. Added foreground lighting and stacked background star field subs and merged with the foreground. htt...

Re: Widefield MW Dust in Scutum

Full of stars! A 6-hour total exposure test sounds a little insane :) And the data processing procedure is quite sophisticated. If it does not involve paid software, I hope can learn from you. Given 533 is a small-size 1-in sensor, what actually caused the obvious aberrations only in the upper part ...

Re: Noob astrophotography

MWay core! Wonder what portion of the original frame is this crop. The upper left part looks free of the terrible aberration. Sometimes the apparent aberration could be caused by the software failing to register the stars due to severe distortions of the image. You may verify this simply by checking...

Re: My astrophotography 2022

This is a stacking-processing outcome for one of the single-exposure photo above. I wanted to bring out more detail and contrast in the MK image, hoping for a better visual feel. But while in the process, I kept asking myself, "why am I doing this?" https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AM-...

Re: My Deep Sky Astrophotography

Nice M8-M20 shot. These bright objects are easy to capture but the surrounding dense star fields make it difficult to render nice imagery. Yours is much better than my work. The M31 shot shows a lot of nice detail. But there are some phantom/glare lights near the corners. Did some lights shine into ...
