WTS: 2 CCD cameras

Hi all, I haven't posted for a long time and now this post is about selling my cameras. The reason is simple, I need to upgrade. 1) Orion Starshoot Pro V1 (6.1 MP colour) - S$1100 (with case + 2 cables + software) (For people who are thinking of modded DSLRs, this Orion camera is like the modded cam...

Hey, I like the phrase "cheesy raw". Indeed netbooks work well and last long enough. (But I don't think I recommend netbooks for planetary photography.) Well there are 2 ways: 1) Big batteries. Try to calculate the total current drawn by the goto mount and the ccd camera so as to determine...

Its up to you to decide. Do you want wide or resolution? Of course, if u want both, then u need extreme equipment. Equipment with long enough focal length to give u the resolution and enough megapixels to give u the wide field. Then the scope will need a huge corrected flat minimally vignetting view...

Hello Mr Chris,

I owe u this formula.

Resolution, or more correctly, sampling is given by,

Sampling (arcseconds per pixel) = (206 x pixel size in microns) / (focal length in mm)

so it has nothing to do how many mega, giga, tera pixels.

Hi, I think newbies should know this technical reason why some people go for webcam shots and why some people go for DSLR shots. (Good) Webcams can take shots at 30 fps or faster to capture a series of shots that consists of sharp and atmospheric-blurred pics. We then stack the sharp ones. This is f...

Hi,

I am using Atlas, aka EQ-6 without mount extension. It can go down to our 1 degree latitude just that large counterweights can hit the tripod legs when swinging in RA past the legs.

Hi,Meng Lee Your pic fantastic and your skill really pro.You know the C11-at least mind--is difficult to focus due to mirror shift problem. As you increase the elevation of your scope, the mirror MAY shift and you are out of focus again. Its very troblesome and c11 dont have mirror lock. You have to fo...

The OTA is decent but the indecent 5x24 finderscope (with a field stop inside, so effectively it is 5x15) and the diagonal that causes significant dimming of images can also be tossed.
