Re: What kind of AZ mount fits my C5
Forget about EQ mounts, just get a Manfrotto 410 head with any camera tripod you like. Manfrotto 055 is a decent choice, other options includes those cheap china CF tripods, or the very expensive gitzos.

Re: Newbie here
One measures the rear of the glass to the sensor, the other measures the mechanical distance. 72.2mm should be correct. You will need an adapter from the back of the reducer to CA-35, then the CA-35 Wide T-Mount. Total distance for those 2 adapters should come close to 28mm, and the camera body will...

Re: Newbie here
It doesn't matter. All of them should be able to reach focus. The only thing you should care about is the distance for the reducer/flattener to the camera, which should be correct if you are using the tak camera adapters.

Re: Newbie here
Image circle are quoted based on what is the largest sensor size that the manufacturer think the scope can support. It can be as low as 60% illumination and stars size can be as big as 20 microns, maybe more. 45mm diagonally is pretty much 35mm full frame(36mmx24mm), aps-c is much smaller. As mentio...

Re: Newbie here
There's a couple of it in one of the club, thou I have never really tried imaging with it. Don't think you will have much trouble with it on the colour correction, should still give pleasing images. Flat frames, I don't think you can avoid that on aps-c, the focuser is after all quite small, once yo...

Re: WTB: Guide-scope for 80mm triplet
You can get the finderscope to t-thread adapter from Modern Astronomy, everything is nice and threaded, no silly 1.25" adapters.

Re: WTB: Guide-scope for 80mm triplet
Skip the dumb 1.25" option. Go for the finderscope to T-Adapter option instead. It's stiffer with none of the silly mechanical issues. Focus is extremely fine and stay fixed permanently. I just chuck mine into the bag and never need any refocusing in the field.
