Re: Singapore Excluding Astronomy In Education Is “Narrow-Mi
I think I have to agree with Mariner. No money to be made out of it so there's no focus on it. Do you all think the government is interested in astronomy? What have the government done in terms of boosting astronomy here? Are there any reserved sites in Singapore for astronomy? All you see day by d...

Re: Polarising filter
Get the 48mm polariser. Thread it into the 2" to 1.25" eyepiece adapter and turn it around for viewing of moon.

Re: AZ or EQ mount for beginners
Go for an alt-az mount. A good camera tripod with the manfrotto 410 head works well for smaller scopes. Smaller and low end eq mounts are clunky, heavy, doesn't track properly for astro imaging purposes. You get the burden of bringing around a relatively heavy counterweight. Unless you are looking a...

Re: Mounting Two telescopes
I used to have ideas of mounting 2 scopes, after trying out I found it to be a waste of time. You can't image via 2 scopes and 2 CCDs on the same mount. I now use the Mach1GTO and GP-D2 side by side instead. This has doubled the amount of objects that can be captured in the same night. Either way, s...
