hi all, here's my shots taken from Indonesia. using Canon 350Rebel, prime focus on 80mm f/7.5 (OrionED). ISO 100, (1/500 and 1s speed layered in Photoshop). ps: d@mn those mosquitoes clear skies, Jeff edit: i've reattached the image, i hope this one works :), apologies for the trouble everyone :oops:

hi cataclysm, I think you'd have to remove the focal reducer to gain more resolution since the object is too small for your dSLR's big sensor(resolution). But yeah, imaging at nature focal length (prime focus) could cause more pain, unless you have a better tracking / dedicated autoguider. nice imag...

I was bored and I played with the image a bit. I created 'pseudo-flat' by applying excessive median filter and gaussian blur to wx's original image, then i blended the 'pseudo-flat' with the original. no more green but alas, lost some reddish nebulosity data as well. :roll: link edited http://img124...

I'm kindda wondering about the same thing since I'm going to be (hopefully) imaging from 6deg South (new territory, no star to point to, I assume).

Did you use a compass, roughly polar aligned the mount, and do drift alignment?
