Hi Matthew,

Interesting work you have there!! Yeah, hopefully the weather will pull through, will think of going up in feb during new moon. But before that, would need to sort out some guidescope and tube ring issues. Don't have a ready imaging system as yet.

Hi Addy, Leslie, It was actually taken last week locally using a friend's Borg76ED 3-inch refractor. I have been posting moon mosaics like this for sometime in the yahoogroups list, and all these while, have been using mostly the 76ED for lunar mosaic work except on a few occasions where i used my 4...

Don't know if it is custom-made or not, but Matthew has successfully used it in conjunction with his imaging needs. Don't think he is back in Singapore yet. Sometime later this week.

Bought my 410RC at Ruby Photo months back (less than a year) for $185. New. You can try checking with them again (building across Peninsula Plaza, same floor as Camera Workshop)

Hi IceAngel (also another easterner?), I think what the others have mentioned that they are able to see everything, is mostly (almost) 88 constellations except for the circumpolar ones. The North Star has been reportedly seen from Malaysia at about 2.5degrees of latitude under good and unobstructed ...

Hi, I will second the Ultima 2X barlow. Very good for the price. Alernatively, TAKAHASHI has come out with a new barlow (at last!) complete with cool compression ring-styled visual adapter. It is a 1.25" 2X barlow version. You can refer to the crew at STARMATRIX (enquiries@star-matrix.com) for ...

Hi Weixing, Off axis guiding is ok but you have to be aware of the following: 1)Choice of guide stars will be limited. 2)Possibiility of introducing internal flares into the image due to the illuminance of the guiding reticle. 3)Little or no effects due to p.mirror slippage. 4)Balance might be an is...

Hi Weixing, Ah, that is clearer now. Nope, 1000mm refers to the inherent f.l. of the guidescope. 333mm is too little. Anyway, my basis for guiding tolerance is more simplistic which I would recommend you in (say) choosing a suitable guidescope for your needs, and the guiding magnification that you w...

Question on Vixen GA4

Hi Weixing, Not sure what exactly are you asking, but my knowledge of the Vixen GA4 (being a user) is this: The built-in barlow (3X) can be used together in your guiding system. However, sometimes I feel that the 3X is a tad too high for my f.l. instrument. You can remove the module out. And it will...
