Re: Widefield Sagitta Constellation with M27 and M71
Thanks for sharing. The Dumb-bell is quite distinct in your image! :) Thanks! Was also surprised to see it that distinct. I was under the impression that it's super faint object, not possible to capture under our light polluted skies and with such wide focal length. I'm glad that I'm proved wrong, ...

Widefield Sagitta Constellation with M27 and M71
Another clear night yesterday 19/07/2020. Went for the Sagitta constellation as I could fit the whole constellation in 1 frame, with M71 in the middle. Was surprised to see M27 also pop up in a single 15sec sub. Apparently there's a few more super tiny planetary nebulae like NGC6886 within this fram...

Tweedledee (IC 4756) and Tweedledum (NGC 6633) Open Clusters
Taken on the exceptionally clear night on 16/07/2020. NGC 6633 (top) open cluster lies in a very rich star field in the constellation of Ophiuchus. Just 3° East of NGC 6633 in the tail part of the constellation Serpens, lies the almost equally bright, but larger open cluster IC 4756 (bottom). Both N...

Re: M10 and M12 Globular Clusters
Nice image. 2 Globulars in one image. Able to zoom in for 2 separate portraits ? :) Thanks! You can see the full size image here , I could crop it further into 2 separate images, but I kinda prefer the widefield one showing both clusters. I might attempt it again as individual shots with my redcat5...

M10 and M12 Globular Clusters
With a recent lack of clear night skies, I had to grab this small window of opportunity last night when there was a short window of clear night skies. Following the GE count along the way too. Also 1st light for my new Samyang 135mm F2.0 lens. The capability of this lens was apparent when both clust...

Re: Dark sites on the island
I have a few areas in mind but have not tried any of them. All are located in west area. Most are generally shooting towards central catchment area. 1. Jurong lake gardens 2. Big open field near dairy farm rock climbing wall 3. Observation tower at chestnut nature park 4. Open field along dairy farm...

Re: M42 and some questions
It is possible to get the horsehead even with 1- or 2-minute subs, but you need a very fast len. i remember doing it with a 50mm f/2 manual focus lens. However the HH was very small. When you get much above 50mm, f/2 lenses get expensive fast. Actually I've been playing around with this set of data...

Re: M42 and some questions
Some small updates, tried drift alignment again. This time it corrected quite nicely following tutorials. https://i.imgur.com/BrS1Vgo.jpg Managed to get a decent 2min exposure (135mm) on procyon which was overhead. https://i.imgur.com/q7jCDBI.gif Unfortunately, due to camera limitations, I'll probab...

Re: M42 and some questions
Thanks Ivan for the detailed reply. Seems like I have my directions mixed up, need to read a few times to wrap my head around it. Will attempt it a few more times to make more sense of it.
