Great effort and nice skies too ! For your photo, would be better if you stick to something at least 300K in file size. Pushing it down to 23k leaves very little detail. Bought a Sky-watcher Star Adventurer mount recently and took my first picture of M42 over the weekend. There are lots of pollution here and I had to lower the ISO and exposure. Hope to be able to find time to go to a dark site and have a go at it again. I tried stacking but someone the stacked image...

May I know what setting did u use for the second photo? Was it on a mod DSLR?
They looked so nice! I just got a Star Adventurer recently and I'm looking forward to image something similar!! Hope I can get a picture similar to yours! : )
