The situation was even worse in Sibu kelong. At 7.30 pm, I can clearly see the moon and Mars. However by 9pm, the cloud cover was so dense I couldn't even see the moon. By the time it cleared up a 2am, the moon and Mars is no longer visible.

Wow...thanks for the tip ! Wondering if it will be better viewing the occultation from Sibu Kelong. Going there for fishing this Sat and will be bringing my scope there. Wife was wondering why I'm bringing the scope for fishing.....now I have a reason to tell her [smilie=info.gif] [smilie=info.gif]

Hi James

I'm currently considering getting the 6SE (same as yours) from Amazon.com now that the exchange rate is so favourable.

How's your opinion on the 6SE since you've been using it for almost a year now? Is the autotracking feature good ? Thinking of using it for astrophotography.

The bright white-coloured one that we saw was also moving NE towards Ursa Minor and Draco. Lasted about a fraction of a second only. Only happened to see it when I was swallowing the jumbo fishballs :-D

Hi Cliff

Oohhh....never been to this site before. This is further in than the usual site.
Will be there at about 10pm.

Hope there is no cloud tomorrow nite as it was quite cloudy over here last night. Couldn't see anything even though Stellarium showed so many objects in the sky :-(
