Re: DSO imagery from Mersing
Wow!!! Stunning image of Eta Carinae there Ivan! Pity indeed there was a fair bit of haze in Mersing last weekend. I think I was more frustrated by its effects on my nose and lungs than on the sky hahaha

Re: DIY Cooled Astronomy Camera - In progress
Thanks for sharing your update on the hot finger. I must admit I was a little adamant on sticking to nichrome wires for my project even after reading about your idea. Planning to start work on my 450D soon but that means no DSO imaging for now! Still haven't decided if it's worth it to go down the d...

I still think I could squeeze a bit more detail from my C8 but that will have to wait till my next Jupiter session and a bout of excellent s...

Comet 252P/LINEAR
Here's my recent image of Comet 252P/LINEAR taken during my trip to Mersing last weekend. I believe the two tails of the comet are just visible in my image. Not the best of conditions but a good start for me considering it's been almost two years since I last did any serious astro :mryellow: https:/...

New eyepiece doesn't fit!?!
Right I finally decided to enter the world of 2" eyepieces and ordered an Orion Q70 38mm to start. Looked really promising until I tried fitting it into my 2 inch diagonal... Which it didn't. Seems like it's a hair width's too large. It doesn't fit directly into the Telescope back either. Any s...
