My first impression of the NTM-500 - it reminds me of a mount I saw in South Africa proof and experimental range for tracking high speed projectile
Really wander if it need to slew so fast for use by astronomer

I use Keter plastic cupboard with 5W light bulb like in the old army camp of keeping optical equipment. The cupboard is available from NTUC @ Serangoon Nex for about $100. Thanks for your reply. I already have a half pier installed. There seems to be a mechanical stop that is preventing the latitude setting going below 23 Deg. Do you have a SXD?
