The animated GIF was from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory . It recorded a massive cloud of plasma flying over the sun's southwestern limb.

Hi, Here are pictures of the Sun this morning. Beneath the huge prominence is Sunspot 1459 and further after the two filaments is Sunspot 1465. Sunspot 1465 has developed a "beta-gamma-delta" magnetic field that harbors energy for X-class solar flares. http://i.pbase.com/o6/08/993808/1/142...
