Similarly, my barang-barang is regularly checked by the customs officer every weekend. ;) I can understand the tension caused by those incidents because living beings are targetted as the victims (humans + animals). But in this case, it's just about a humorous suggestion on how to switch off the lam...

No idea why goggles were used. Maybe freak accidents do happen, even with slingshots.

I've got a feeling that most of us here have pretty good night vision. So lamp posts are quite a nuisance. ;)
