Venus can be observed waxing and waning like our moon~ so what you were seeing might be a crescent venus, and not the optical fault of the scope.

haha i have a 200mw greenie. but the 1W blue just looks too good to be missed!! check out that thick death ray! LOL but at only 200 bucks? sounds a little suspicious.. esp from wicked lasers.. i remember they used to sell the 200mw greenies for like 2k ish usd..

i have a gen 1 or rather one between gen 1 and 2. i believe gen 2 and above is already considered controlled item in singapore. I did managed to see M6 M7 and M31 here tru it visually as a fuzzy patch. but its resolution is just too crappy~~

The only time for me was after some long hours of manual guiding. i fell asleep fell forward from the chair i am sitting on and slammed by eyes into the guiding eyepiece ~ hea it managed to knock the ga4 and eyepiece out of the focuser.
