Re: Deep Sky AP - Combinig Shots - you Don't see what you'd
Ivan, i think you are right, but i find that if i use Nebulosity S/W to convert RAW to color then it looks less bright, seems to incur more lost, may i know how to overcome this ? Do you use a different S/W for stacking that does it quite well for 1 shot color ? Thanks. I personally haven't used Ne...

Awesome shot!
I've got a question, though. In part (b), you converted the RAW to JPG format. Doesn't that cause a loss of image data?

Re: Celestron SCT Advanced VX
Hi do u have some models of newt that can do AP? I believe the most commonly used one is the AstroTech (sometimes known as GSO) f/4 Imaging Newtonian, either a 6 inch or 8 inch. Going beyond 10 inches can reduce the fov by a fair bit, as well as tax the VX mount a little too much. For some reason, ...

Re: Celestron Advanced VX 8" SCT
Hi, did anybody have any experience on this SCT before? 1) 7-77° latitude range for tracking passed meridian - is it usable in Singapore without any modification needed? 2) Astrophography compatible at end of tube. Suppose tracking using the computerized drives for long exposure photography..? 3) M...

Re: Celestron SCT Advanced VX
Hi just checking how sct with goto is important for long exposure astrophogaphy? Can newt do the same w goto equupment? I'm pretty much a beginner in AP, but so far this is what I've gathered (more experienced AP-ers, correct me if I'm wrong): GOTO isn't essential for long exposure AP. It only assi...

[SOLD] C6 XLT OTA and Solar Filter
Hi, I have a C6 XLT with a Vixen-Style dovetail plate that I'm planning to sell. It is 2 years old but still in good condition as I don't use it too often. I'm selling this as I'm upgrading my OTA to an 8-incher. It comes with a finder scope, visual back and star diagonal. For this, I'm asking SOLD....

Re: Filters for Singapore sky
Although the Haze is stopping me using m new telescope I was wondering what filters you all recomend for DSO in Singapore skys? For narrowband filters, Oxygen III and H-Alpha filters would be the most useful ones, followed perhaps by H-Beta. Whether to use OIII or HA would depend on the type of emi...
