The 10x50 is what I am also looking for.. the brand new ones are really expensive and used ones show up very rarely. But based on my experience of Fujinon 7x50, these are not handholdable for long time. a 8x42/50/56 are easier to hand hold. I already have a heavier bino 20x60 for tripod mounted view...

yes.. but you should be able to manually point it to sky, take a picture and plate solve it. once you have desired frame, you should also be able to guide it using a guidescope and guidecame.

did you check red-dot finder's battery.. there is very little in red-dot finder to get spoilt. You could still run nexstar SE mounts via batteries until you get your new powertank.
