An Eclipse Chasing Time-Lapse Journal
An annular solar eclipse swiped across Australia on May 10, 2013. Together with 4 other fellow Malaysian astronomy hobbyists, we embarked on a road trip in Western Australia to chase the eclipse at it's best - a sunrise "ring of fire". 16 days, 4000km+ of road travel, the trip covered some...

Re: Comet Pan-STARRS from Inner Mongolia, China
Nice shot! So you managed to take that long-planned image of M31 and Comet Panstarrs together. (PS: I was wondering where the two objects are in the image. It's right cropped in the above. Can see the full width of the image here: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8544/8612271588_b64d5753f9_o.jpg) Yes ...

Re: Comet Pan-STARRS from Inner Mongolia, China
Close conjunction of comet Pan-STARRS and Andromeda Galaxy(M31). Also captured in the image is M33 on the left below the watermark, and a small meteor right beside the comet. Lucky! The red lights below are from the electricity wind farm. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8544/8612271588_2d7ff811c4_o.jp...

Re: Comet Pan-STARRS from Inner Mongolia, China
@JiaHao Did you try to capture the comet and the Moon together in the same photo? Hi Gary, unfortunately I was clouded out on that specific day, just not meant to be... I had been anticipating to view the conjunction for quite a long time, since my previous sighting of such event dates back to 1997...

Excellent photos, Jiahao! Thanks for sharing. Very nice backdrop of the wind farms and grasses, and the twilight reds too. Looks like the wide-field Artist has struck again. Comets beware: he will chase and chase you! Wow! Nice Jia Hao! I was under the impression that the comet is too low now unles...
