I won't recommend that. The telescope mirror is actually 3 inch and the mount is an Alt. Azimuth mount. the eyepieces it uses are 0.9 inch, not 1.25". It is a toy telescope. You can see the craters on the moon, m45, traces of m42, m44 and thats about it. the eyepieces are plastic, so is the who...

That is indeed a very good scope and an awesome deal. Our school also bought our scope from Robin. Very good for astrophotography and reliable.

You need to change the connection cable connecting the star book to the mount. Had the same problem.

Which school is that? From my experience in a school club, I will suggest starting with a dobsonian (meade). Simplicity with a big aperture and rugged for beginner use. Will cost below 2k. You can then use the remaining budget to get some bino, eyepieces and for organising events. But you are using ...
