Re: Nexstar mount problem
Hi all, A quick update as I just spoke to Albert at Astro Scientific. The issue according to him is the power as the GOTO function consumes more power than the alignment function and "fresh" batteries are usually not fully juiced, hence the issues I'm facing. Anyone can recommend a good an...

Re: Nexstar mount problem
Yes. I've balanced it as best as I can by securing the pivoting point to around the centre of gravity. I am looking fir a good power source but I'll try with fresh batteries again in the meantime. Thanks.acc wrote:Is the OTA properly balanced such that the alt motor is not struggling to move the OTA?

The 6SE is quite a reliable and robust mount so hopefully it is just some minor setup i...

Nexstar mount problem (Case closed)
Hi guys, Sorry if this is the wrong thread but recently I purchased a brand new Nexstar 6SE and am having trouble with the GOTO function. I have done several alignments but the GOTO system seems to be going haywire. I have tried 2-star, auto 2-star, sky align (verified correct at the end) and the sy...

Re: Post Your Super Moon Pictures on 5 and 6 May 12
Took a few shots but somehow just couldn't get the focus right. My lens do not have infinity settings at extreme ends but rather a short distance away, making it quite difficult to get a sharp focus....

Hi Richard,

Also interested in no. 20 or 21 but like some details on those.
