:cry: :( Pls do not get any Tasco scopes, as most of them are pathetic, useless department store scopes. To be frank, I own one of Tasco 60mm scope given to me by my uncle. To add on....... Planets present as a steady point of light. Cos planets are nearer to us thus less affected by the turbulence :wink: :lol:

u can try www.astronomy.com or download a programme known as Cartes Du Ciel from http://www.stargazing.net/astropc/index.html.
Magazines from science center is also good as the stars are 4.5 mag and show local sky condition.

:) :( Goto may not be suitable as in light polluted sky of Singapore, most of time spent is to view planets, thus goto is not needed.

:o :D Frankly speaking the magazine produced by science center is good enough. They produce sky maps monthly stars to 4.5 mag suitable for newbies.

Yeah observation sessions in TP or Bedok reservoir is a good idea look forward to it. Good chance to take a peek into the eyepiece of various scope.
