Re: My astrophotography 2021
After 10-11PM, I noticed the clouds were dispersing and I decided to shoot some solar system objects. The idea was to use a very small APO refractor and a small (1in) astro-camera to track their celestial motions in a time frame of 1 hour or 2. The telescope is 70mmF6+.79x, giving a FL at 330mm. The...

Re: My astrophotography 2021
2021-Nov-6 It feels like ages before I managed to take another astrophoto since the above post. Oh the weather! This particular evening -- thankfully there was a gap in the clouds. It allowed me to capture a few shots of the crescent moon near Antares. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AM-JKLWpqA...

Re: My first DSO photography attempt
Wow! Not bad for the (assumed) fixed-tripod astrophoto. Are you considering a star tracker or EQ mount?

Re: My astrophotography 2021
2021-Oct-31 Early morning saw super clear skies. The moon has entered the waning crescent phase, and to my surprise, shows the beautiful earthshine clearly. This year after having tracked the moon closely over months, I have developed a better sense of how the same-phase moon visits different conste...

The primary target was Venus -- almost at the spot of the milky way core. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AM-JKLVbkuhvSNlsoq7t2zmWgWTPT6qt6e5ifENcVvCkRIssMR5qU6FsN80GDrLkHlVqXiWwM6Ws-4sLvGpubxH3AzaPwy-9gAESFI41cyZ_9dvRQq-FhwYmVw8EBsxApq3AczuL8sQggG02QeJBNOi0cxxhWg=w732-h975-no?authuser=0 So hap...

2021-Oct-29 Lovely evening, again. The setting sun. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AM-JKLW-FPCo19EjVzA06ejNSxgfTNToVhTj5MW0ubfBfvENF96mcuk96T62EfwUEvu_LRou5dIG7mtFSGVawnFe2C4qWJLR4fWFaW6dZkpQY9Sa9_VO-aLr_1-w6B0t648uHEwQcCHqXbRqtSYqvDOyVLpAEA=w1734-h975-no?authuser=0 The last few moments saw a ...

Re: My astrophotography 2021
2021-Oct-27 A lovely evening spent under the stars at Kranji. It is slightly less light-polluted, and I can easily make out those not-so-dim constellations. It was quite a joy visually, but a challenge in photographing -- at least in the first two hours after sunset -- the persistent pass-by clouds ...

Re: My astrophotography 2021
Anyway, it felt so good to see the Mercury again -- first time after it returned to the morning sky. This reminds me of my observation project back in March when Mercury closely passed by Jupiter and Saturn joined the duo to adorn the morning sky. A lovely bright planet! https://lh3.googleuserconten...

Re: My astrophotography 2021
2021-Oct-25 The early morning welcomed a lovely clear sky. Went down to shoot comets and Mercury, understanding the gibbous moon was blazing overhead. 67P has passed by Gam Gemini. Despite its close proximity to the moon in the current position, the 135mm-FL image barely shows a little coma feature....

Yes, the 130P desktop Newtonian! I was once a owner, but could not produce any photograph as good as this.
