This is how the Sun looked today (7Aug 12). The long filament that we saw on 4 and 5 Aug 12 has erupted. Missed that one :(

Hi Chia,

The photos were taken on Sat and Sun. Couldn't do imaging today :(

Hope we can catch the filament breaking up :)

The filament was especially impressive. I estimated that it's length may have been about 50 times the Earth's diameter!!

Hi Roland,

I was too lazy to remove the string :) Here is a close-up of an improvised CW made of few pieces of mild steel glued together. Doesn't look great but does the job :)

Bought the SmartEQ mount for solar imaging.
