Re: Ioptron ZEQ25GT mount?

Well done anat. I have recently bought the baby brother the smarteq pro for airline portability. You must be prepared to tinker to get the best out of these ioptron products. iOptron business model is for the customer to complete the manufacturing QC . In return they provide excellent customer servi...

Re: Help needed for taking DSLR photos through a telescope

Hi. I am having some problems with taking telescopic pictures using a dslr. I have gotten a telescope adapter for the dslr. Even though bright images can be seen from the dslr, after the shutter is pressed, images appear completely dark. Anyone has any suggestions about this? Try it in daytime. Usi...

Re: Bubble Nebula - 1 Sep 2013

I was getting about 0.3 pixel RMS (about 1" RMS guiding) which is pretty bad.. but since my guide scope image scale is about the same as the main scope, still got round stars. Great image. Using hyperstar you can reduced you imaging time to 13 mins. when you and MooEy talk about XXsec/pixel I ...

Re: Celestron SCT Advanced VX

In terms of f/10 vs f/5 ... how much effect will this on AP? Since both are the same mount, I suppose its the same comparison. Of course I suppose the advanced series mount can go drift tracking for longer exposure (to get a almost sharp star point)... The laws of physics do apply to telescopes too...

Re: Celestron SCT Advanced VX

I have been assured by AP that for the Mach1 GTO they sold me can be used to carry the Edge C11 for imaging with no sweat. Now I have to save money to buy a Edge C14 for the NJP and hyperstar for the current Edge C11. Mount performance will then be not so critical for compared to f/10 prime focus a ...

Re: Celestron SCT Advanced VX

Coming from a photographic background I found it is easier to introduce astrophotography to photographers than to those who has been involved in visual astronomy and learning astrophotography from visual astronomer will be like learning physics from a maths teacher. That I consider unfortunate. Sorr...
