Yes Chris, I have seen that picture before. It left me a very deep impression. SInce meteor storm is so rare, I should be content with a shower :).

a meteor storm kills. No it isn't a storm <- that's so scary!!
Huh??? From other websites I visited, I got the impression that meteor shower & meteor storm are used interchageably. No? But I never heard any report about people killed by meteor storm :D

So get up on 13 Aug at 3am-4am to catch Persids meteor storm? Could anybody advise the best spot to watch meteor storm in Singapore? Hope I am able to stay up :)

My children insist in watching Jupiter almost every night. I am thinking of buying a bino to have a closer look.... but I think better wait until I see others' equipment at this coming star party. Really looking forward to this gathering.

how about start with sky scout and a good sky chart? http://www.celestron.com/skyscout/new/features.php Quite an expensive gadget though (USD399!). I will wait for a while, listen to the feedback from the first batch of users. Are you planning to get one yourself? If so, I will admire yours first :).
