Re: Recommendation on eyepiece kit

The AM 114EQ is a bird-jones newtonian with spherical mirror.

You may wish to upgrade to a proper parabolic mirror newtonian in the future if the hobby continues, save the budget for that.

Re: Recommendation on eyepiece kit

DO NOT buy these kits. The only useful things you need are the barlow and 32mm plossl. For the money if you concentrate only on the 2 items, you can either get better quality or cost savings. Info on cloudynights forum said these 32m plossl are just 50 afov. Manufacturer stated 52 is inaccurate, the...

Re: Telescope for deep sky photography

The Nexstar SE are altazimuth mounts and slow focal ratio. Not suitable.
For your purpose you need an equatorial mount, they compensate for the rotation that is visible for extended period.

Re: Pls recommend a bino

Amazon USA relaxed the export restriction on some Celestron products,
granite 10x50 , 8" flexdob , SW dualspeed 100ed 120ed all can ship to Singapore.

Potential buyers should select "bill in USD"
Amazon's rate in SGD is 3% higher than bank's conversion rate.

Re: Advice needed for first scope!

Long refractors will vibrate more (moment arm) compared to shorter tubes, thus require a more stable mount.

AP need minimum ~1k budget for mount alone.
