Buying a used EM500 from Astromart

Hi,

I am considering buying a Takahashi EM500 mount (2005) from AM. Just the mount, no pier or tripod. It cost about US$7500. Would cost me another S$1500 to ship it in with insurance, not mentioning GST.

Does anyone have words of wisdom?

Alfred, we should get our heads together, I have had mine since the start of the month, and it is quite a nice mount. I got it auto-guiding for the first time last night, after a guider failure. Hi, As you may have read, the Ioptron produced the mount for 5-70 deg lat. As I don't have a pier, I set the lat to 5 deg. Hi, The iEQ45 finally arrived in 2 packages on 22 Sep10. First box contains the tripod, counter weight, power adapter and cables. Second box contains the Equatorial Mount and 8406 controller.
