How is the sky at Genting and cameron?

Post by VinSnr »

Hi guys,

Wonder how many of you have tried stargazing at places like Genting Highlands or Cameron Highlands? Considering these places pretty high in altitude and probably little light pollution, are they great for astronomy? Do they have many clear nights in a year?

Thanks

Genting is a no go. The area is very well lit thanks to the hotels and theme parks.
Also, the areas are often in clouds due to their altitude.
I'd suggest taking a pair of binos or maybe something small but don't bother with anything major.
Additionally, you probably don't really want to be in an isolated dark place with an expensive looking item... :)
Go there for the fun and take any clear and darker skies as a bonus but don't plan an astro trip there.
Not sure about Cameron.
