Come on, lah...who are you trying to bluff?
If you were making out, I am sure you wouldn't notice the meteor!

Was it really a meteor or was it 'sparks' flying?

Like VinSnr, my most memorable object was Halley's (thru a borrowed bino).
Heh.. it was AFTER the making out. You know.. when we were both lying face up, dead tired, and wondering what to say to her... then 'whoosh'! I mean the meteor..

Well, for me, it was some years back when i went to philipines.. I had only started to get interested in astronomy then.. my mom's hometown(she's phillipino:) had frequent blackouts as it was a rural area and the first one that happened when i arrived lasted for an hour or so.. So i went out for some fresh air and lo and behold, the clearest sky i had EVER SEEN! there were ZERO clouds and no moon and i saw the milky way in all its glowing glory!! I literally froze and my cousins were wondering why i was so awestruck.. i think i teared a bit too:) It was so magnificently sublime!! I spent all my nights there gazing at the sky.. :):) needless to say, the trip sealed my love for astronomy.. Can't wait for my next trip there!!This time, i'm bringing my telescope!!:):):)

Last week, when looking at the rising moon, I saw for the first time in my life a meteor that split into two! It was extremely bright, slow, and as it travelled downwards I distinctly sawit become two trails!

Most memorable probably has to be Hale-Bopp.

Second most happened a week back, with that nice fireball. Hopefully, I will see Comet Mcnaught, bumping the fireball into third place. :)
