Post by rcj »

Hi all,

Even though the eclipse it not visible here, we have some of our friends over in China right now. Let's wish them lots of clear skies!!!! and take lots of photos!! It's just 8.5 hours to Totality!

Cheers!

Hi all,

Was an eclipse virgin when I started, but now glad to report that that's no longer true :-) Here are 2 very preliminary photos that I managed to get. One of the diamond ring before totality, as well as a shot during mid totality. It was truely awesome, but definitely was over all too quickly.

I followed the group led by Fred Espenak aka Mr Eclipse from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre, which comprised about 60 people from all around the globe, but primarily Americans. Fred chose a site 5 hours east by bus from Dunhuang, close to the town of Jia Yu Guan. The site was great, very windy, but perfect cloudless skies that afforded a perfect eclipse experience.

Wish all were here !

Best regards,
Joo Beng.

Greetings from Xingjiang! This will be our last night here. Some draft photos to share... (unfortunately, the Eclipse photo cannot be uploaded due to error from CBACK Crackertracker).

Remus will upload the other one.

Cheers!
